Child support and Custody by Chris on 12/2/2009 4:24:28 PM

Message Child support and Custody was posted by Chris, on 12/2/2009 4:24:28 PM.

Hello,
I just received a phone call from DCS and they said they are sending me the order for child support, which isn't really a problem because I will be glad to pay.

However, I need some advice on this. My ex is refusing to let me see my son alone. She has also claimed she will call the police if I make any attempt to take him out to the store or to a park.

The weird thing is I have not received ANYTHING saying that I am the non-custodial parent. We have no parenting plan in place at all.

We were unmarried and we had filed the paternity affidavit about 3 months ago. She is currently on state assistance, but I don't believe she has told DCS that. I want to get joint custody of my son (50% with her and 50% with me) how would I go about getting this legalized? She is unwilling to put joint-custody in a parenting plan.

Also DCS claimed that I earned a gross wage ALOT higher than what my scheduled time is. I get paid hourly and I was asked to work 60 hours a week for almost a month (my normal schedule is 40 hours a week) but now they are calculating that overtime as my gross monthly income. What can I do here? This is extremely unfair because it's very rare for me to work more than 40 hours a week.

Any help is MUCH appreciated. Thanks!
